Prayer Center — Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 17, 2026
Provider: The Brooklyn Tabernacle, 17 Smith Street, Brooklyn, NY 11201
Privacy contact: privacy@brooklyntab.org
This policy explains how the Prayer Center mobile app handles your
information. It is specific to the app and separate from any policy governing our website or
text-message ministry.
What we collect
- Prayer & praise submissions you choose to send: first name, optional
last name, email address, and the request or praise text you write.
- Staff account data (staff only): email, display name, and assigned role.
- Technical data: app version, device type, crash diagnostics (via Sentry),
and a push notification token if you enable notifications — used only to operate and secure
the app.
We do not track you across other apps or websites, and we do
not sell your data.
How we use your information
- To receive, review, and (for staff) publish prayer and praise content.
- To send you a confirmation email about your submission.
- To secure the app (Firebase App Check) and diagnose crashes.
- To send notifications you have opted into.
Who we share it with
- Content you submit may be shown to church staff and, once approved, to the prayer community.
- We use Google Firebase (authentication, database, cloud functions,
hosting) and Sentry (crash reporting) as service providers that process
data on our behalf. We do not sell personal data.
Your choices and rights
Data retention & security
- Data is encrypted in transit. Access is role-restricted and enforced on our servers.
- We retain submissions per our ministry records policy and delete them on verified request.
Children
This app is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes
We will post updates on this page and revise the effective date above.
